About me
Bonjour! I’m Pauline, a French native speaker who moved to England 13 years ago.
My teaching journey began in 2010 in Paris, where I graduated as a certified French primary school teacher. Since then, I’ve taught children from nursery to Year 6, first in France, and later in two French schools in London.
After 14 years as a full-time teacher, including 8 years of commuting between Maidenhead and London, I decided to take a step back to focus on my family. That said, I didn’t want to stop teaching altogether, because teaching is truly my passion!
About The French Bubble
Six years ago, when my daughter was born, I made it a priority to speak to her only in French. I read her French stories, sang French songs, and created a little French world at home so she could learn her mother tongue, connect with our family in France, and grow up with the incredible gift of speaking another language.
I knew how important those early years were for language development, so I searched for a local French baby group in Maidenhead, somewhere she could hear others speaking French too (I didn’t want her to think I was the only person in the world speaking this funny language!). But I couldn’t find anything nearby. That’s when the idea of The French Bubble first began to take shape.
While developing both a baby & toddler group and an after-school club, I also find time to create lessons for my English husband. He had wanted to learn French ever since we met, but always found it too difficult or time-consuming. With just one 30-minute lesson a week, he finally started to enjoy the process and made amazing progress!
As I began sharing my project around me, my family and French friends encouraged me to offer English lessons too, in the same spirit
That’s how my French and English classes for adults came to life: welcoming, accessible, and specially designed for true beginners.
I now teach other adults who, just like my husband, were complete beginners when they started their language learning journey with me
